Distinguishing FSC Labels: FSC 100%, FSC Mix, and FSC Recycled
In the world of plywood production, especially within the context of Vietnam FSC materials, it’s vital to understand the different types of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) labels. They not only guide sustainable sourcing but also communicate trust and transparency to your customers. Let’s explore what FSC 100%, FSC Mix, and FSC Recycled truly mean.
1. FSC 100%
This label indicates that all materials in the product come from responsibly managed, FSC-certified forests. In other words, every bit of plywood content is sourced in strict accordance with FSC’s environmental and social standards. Among the three labels, FSC 100% is considered the most direct and strong contributor to sustainable forest management.
For a plywood manufacturer in Vietnam, using this label means demonstrating the highest level of commitment to environmentally conscious forestry.
2. FSC Recycled
The FSC Recycled label signifies that the product is made entirely from 100% recycled materials, whether from post-consumer or pre-consumer sources. It’s a powerful choice for reducing demand on virgin materials and minimizing environmental impact.
In plywood production, incorporating recycled fiber or wood can greatly lighten the ecological footprint while still supporting FSC principles.
3. FSC Mix
FSC Mix is a versatile label — it tells consumers that the product contains a combination of materials: FSC-certified forest materials, recycled content, and/or Forest controlled wood (which isn’t FSC-certified, but its source is verified to avoid unacceptable origins). Fix Mix is define with at least using 70% FSC materials.
This label is particularly useful when fully FSC-certified materials (or recycled ones) aren’t available or sufficient. It still upholds responsible sourcing standards and enables broader participation in sustainable production.

Why it matters for Vietnam plywood producers
Vietnam FSC materials with FSC 100% convey the highest standard of sustainability. It’s ideal when you can secure certified raw material and want to emphasize environmental excellence.
FSC Recycled helps you promote circular economy values — a strong message that resonates with eco-conscious buyers.
FSC Mix offers flexibility — particularly in markets or supply chains where fully certified or recycled materials are limited. It also allows responsible sourcing through FSC-controlled wood, reducing the risk of undesirable material input.
In all cases, choosing an FSC label signals to international markets that your plywood products are trustworthy and environmentally sound.
At Kim Gia, a Vietnam plywood mill, we’re proud to work with Vietnam FSC materials and offer transparency through FSC labeling. Whether we’re using FSC 100% to ensure every piece comes from certified forests or selecting FSC Mix to responsibly blend certified, recycled, and controlled content — each choice reflects our dedication to sustainable forestry and quality plywood. Our goal is to deliver not only strong, beautifully finished panels, but also peace of mind to customers who care deeply about the planet.
