EUDR Traceability Requirements – Effective 2026
Starting in 2026, under the EUDR regulation, all wood materials shipped to the European market must be accompanied by complete traceability documents. The purpose of these documents is to ensure that all wood products traded within Europe originate from non-deforestation sources. This provides customs authorities and governments with transparent traceability from log harvesting to end customers.
Required EUTR Documents:
- Land use rights or equivalent documentation (Decision/Land Lease Contract of the plot of land).
- Forest Harvesting License (if veneer materials are imported).
- Harvesting permit of the forest owner (for plantation forests).
- Harvest permission documents.
- Geolocation data in EPSG 4326 format.
- Satellite images proving no deforestation.
- Transport documents from forest to peeling factory.
- Contract between peeling factory and forest owner/harvester.
- Proof of payment for the logs.
- Log invoices.
- Contract between factory and peeling factory.
- Veneer invoices between factory and peeling factory.
- Transport documents from peeling factory to plywood factory.
- For imported veneers: Bill of Lading (B/L), transport documents from port to factory, and all related supporting documents.
- Proof of payment for imported veneers.
