WHAT IS THE HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE (HPL)?
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is one of the most popular and commonly used surfaces for decorative furniture. HPL manufactured composite material made up of Kraft paper, decorative paper, overlay paper and thermosetting synthetic resins. Kraft paper provides the product with its thickness, while decorative paper creates the design and color of the product. The overlay paper helps to protect it from abrasion, scratches and heat. The resins, usually phenolic or melamine, work as the glue to bind the materials together. HPL must be affixed to a base material like particleboard, MDF, or plywood for furniture and interior applications.

Surface Visuals: HPL and TFL decor paper require the same type of printing. This printing is done with digital inkjet presses using water-based ink. After printing, the paper will be treated with resin and pressed onto the composite wood core.
Textures: Texture effects can be added to the surface of an object by using textured release papers, such as wood grain, gloss, and other finishes.
WHERE IS HIGH PRESSURE LAMINATE (HPL) USED?
Due to its’ high durability, High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a great choice for surfaces that will be subject to heavy use or frequent cleaning, such as countertops, vanities, mudrooms, desktops, and more. Additionally, HPL surface is easy to clean and maintain, making it a popular choice for fast-food restaurants, transaction counters, booths, tabletops, walls, and bathroom dividers. HPL Plywood is also commonly used in offices on reception desks and workspaces, in hotel room vanities, in elevator cabs, and on airline check-in desks.
