Anti-Slip Film Faced Plywood – What Defines Excellent Quality?
1) Water Resistance
Anti-Slip Film Faced Plywood is widely used for flooring in demanding environments such as:
- Construction sites and scaffolding
- Walkways and decks in marine and industrial areas
- Outdoor stairs and playgrounds
- Loading docks and warehouse floors
- Trailer and truck flooring
- Vehicle and van flooring
- Industrial and commercial facilities
Because it is often exposed to outdoor conditions, water resistance is the most critical factor. This is determined by the type of glue used, such as WBP (Water Boiling Proof) MUF or high-quality Phenolic glue, which ensures excellent resistance against moisture and water penetration.
Surface overlay also plays an important role in quality. Anti-Slip Plywood is commonly overlaid with phenolic film paper (180–240 g/m²) in standard colors such as black, brown, or grey. In some cases, melamine film papers in colors like white or grey are used, depending on the application.

2) Bending Strength and Durability
For applications such as trailer or truck flooring, where panels must withstand heavy load-bearing requirements, bending strength is a critical factor. Strong bending strength helps prevent floor breakage, ensures safety, and reduces maintenance costs.
Bending performance is determined mainly by many factors: the density of the wood material and the type of glue used, combined with core structure as well as high-pressure processing. For high-density panel requirements, hardwood species such as Birch veneers, Rubber, or Eucalyptus are commonly preferred. To maximize the overall bonding strength of the panel, Phenolic glue is recommended.
Beside that, The rough-textured surface of Anti-Slip Film Plywood is designed to withstand frequent movement of vehicles and cargo. The durability of the film overlay also directly affects the service life of the panel.
Typical standards for anti-slip coatings include resistance to rolling tests (EN438-2):
- 120 g/m² film: up to 400 revolutions
- 220 g/m² film: up to 900 revolutions
3) Surface Finish Quality
Anti-Slip Film Faced Plywood is available in various surface patterns, such as hexagon, rice, or square textures, with multiple color options depending on the application.
Regardless of pattern or color, the surface must have a clear, well-defined texture to maintain proper slip resistance. Burn marks on the surface are not acceptable, as they may lead to delamination of the film layer during use, reducing performance and durability.
